Principal's Message

Bradoaks Elementary Science Academy

It is with great pleasure that I address the Monrovia community as the new site principal at Bradoaks Elementary Science Academy. It is wonderful to be back home where I spent my entire childhood and where I had the opportunity to teach and lead in the district for over eight years. Since my arrival on March 1st, I have been received by students, parents, and staff with an overwhelming amount of love and support. I have met with the vast majority of our educational partners and have been able to evaluate the state of our school in the wake of the recent fire. It is my goal to work collaboratively toward cohesion, compassion, and healing. In my role, there is nothing more important than to provide a friendly, learning environment that assures students and staff feel safe, healthy, and cared for every single day.

March was a busy month full of amazing opportunities for our students to explore more in the science world. We had visitors presenting to our 1st and 2nd graders what NASA does and others explaining how they plan to extract various metals from asteroids. We plan to continue to strengthen our partnerships with other entities in the field of science such as Food Ed, Lego Education, Paxton Laboratories, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and Northrop-Grumman.  We recognize that curiosity to learn more about the world around us starts at a young age. We plan to continue to feed the passion of inquisitiveness through exploratory and project-based learning.

Please enjoy your summer and remember to read, read, read!

GO BOBCATS!
